Restoration of the Cloister of the Grand Ducal Guesthouse at the Certosa di Calci

Restoration and structural consolidation works on the roof and rooms at the third level of the cloister of the Grand Ducal Guesthouse at the Certosa di Calci (Pisa). 2019/2020

The section of roof subject to restoration covers a substantial area of approximately 650 square metres, including the main corridor on the third level, the smaller adjacent corridor and six additional rooms within the complex. Three rooms overlook the Guesthouse Cloister, while the other three open onto the corridor of the Historic Library, overlooking the Prior’s Garden. Alongside the structural works on the roof, the external facades of both intervention areas were also restored.
