PAUN Research Project
PAUN – URBAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF NAPLES
The project aims to lay the foundations for the development of the Urban Archaeological Park of Naples (PAUN), establishing its initial location at the archaeological site of Piazza Municipio. From a conceptual perspective, the URBAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF NAPLES is based on the principle that without knowledge there can be no lasting enhancement, and without protection there can be no heritage to pass on to future generations. One of the main objectives is therefore to meet the need for information and services relating to cultural heritage through approaches that foster innovation in protection and enhancement systems. In this context, each project objective seeks to promote interaction between different skills and areas of knowledge, creating a synergistic solution to the various needs of the region’s cultural sector. In summary, the different areas of expertise applied to Cultural Heritage are organised within a system that integrates the main functions required for the effective management of Cultural Heritage. At the core of the project is the growth and dissemination of Knowledge, expressed through analysis for domain specialists, diagnostics supporting conservation, and communication aimed at the wider public.
